{Winter} Wonderland

I just realized I never actually posted these. I'm sorry my friends. Both of you I'm sure were sad you didn't see my wintery Utah pictures.

We had one really really good snowstorm while we were in Utah. Giant soft flakes. The best snowman making snow. It was really quite magical to wake up to peaceful white everything. It was so sticky it just piled and piled on top of everything.

Future {Photographer}

Little {A} has always been very interested in taking pictures. He has 3 play cameras and loves them all. Almost wherever he goes he needs his cameras so he can take pictures of everything he sees. He is definitely mine. He won't even let me take his picture until he takes mine first with the big camera. Well, a few months ago while we were in Utah, my mom was so trusting and allowed Little {A} to borrow her camera for the day. He was so good! He carried the case on his wrist and was really good about putting it back until he needed it again. It was so fun to look at those pictures and see everything through his perspective. So skip ahead to Christmas. Guess what Santa brought? A nice new camera with its very own "suitcase"! He was so excited. And I love that he has his very own camera and doesn't ask to use mine all the time!

Here is a glimpse into Little {A}'s life:

I did not post all the terrible out of focus shots he took of me, the inside of his dad's mouth, his dad changing clothes, several of my backside, more of my belly, closeups of the carpet, and his grandma blow drying her hair. They just weren't quite up to par. I was very tempted to post the one of grandma blow drying her hair. It's quite hilarious, but I don't think she would have been thrilled.

A Little {Behind}

So I know it has been awhile. And I really wish I had a great excuse as to why I haven't been blogging. But honestly I've been lazy and out of the habit. But today I finally buckled down and edited most of my Utah pictures from my {not so} recent trip.

Here is a little preview of what I'm working on.

Little {A} in all his shark glory on Halloween.

Anyone know where/what these are?

More to come in the next little while. I hope...

{M}om

My mom is the best. Some of you may try to convince me that your mom is the best, but we'll just have to agree to disagree. Well today my friends, is my awesome mom's birthday! Here are a few fun facts about my mom:

  • She is the ultimate crafter and DIYer. She sews, quilts, paints, restores furniture. She is always on the lookout for a fun new project!
  • She and I used to work in a flower shop together. (I bet you didn't know that about me, did you!) She worked there for years! She still does flowers for family weddings and funerals. She is so talented!
  • Her garden/yard is my favorite place. My wedding reception was there as well as my sisters's. The grass is always perfect. The flowers are so pretty and fragrant. Every year she has new ideas on how to make it better.
  • She is an awesome grandma! 13 grand kids and another on the way! Wahoo!
  • She raised 7 kids! Six girls and one boy. We are a BIG happy family :)
  • My mom loves the color blue.  At one point I told her she couldn't buy any more blue clothes because it was getting out of hand.
  • I'm sure if my mom could be any animal she would be a bluebird. She loves birds! And that bird loving trait has been passed down to a few of the grand kids including my little guy.
  • She makes the BEST cinnamon rolls! She even sells them. They are that good.
  • She used to have written instructions on how to turn on our computer and get to her email. Now she has her own laptop and is pretty tech savvy.

When I think of my mom I usually picture her in one of two places; either in her sewing room, or outside working in her yard. I don't have any pictures of her sewing room, but I do have some pictures of her amazing yard.

My mom is the greatest. She has helped me through so much and I have learned so much from her.

I love you, Mom! I hope you have a great day!

{D}ad

My Dad turns 60 today.

When thinking about my Dad lots of memories come to mind:

Horse Rides
Camping Trips
White Hair - my Dad has had white hair since as long as I can remember!
Grouse Creek Trips
Lazy Saturdays watching Stargate SG1
Cattle Herding
Branding Weekends
One time we were all laying in my parents bed watching TV and my Dad rolled over and seriously drooled in my eye! So gross.
I probably get my sense of humor from my Dad. It is very cheesy and quirky :)
When I was little I remember telling my mom I was going to marry my dad (does every little girl say that?)
My Dad is a real Cowboy. Boots. Hat. Wranglers. That's about all he wears. He's been in rodeos. (I've been in a rodeo, cow poop and all).  He owns a Ranch. We've been on actual cattle drives. He owns horses.

My Dad spends a lot of time out in the barn. Sometimes I'm not even sure what he's doing out there. But whenever I think of my Dad this is where I picture him:

Happy Birthday Dad! I wish I could be there with you!
