{Six} Precious and Tiring Months

How has this happened? Six months already? But really at the same time I'm thinking, only six months? I can't remember life without you. Today we celebrated by singing Happy Birthday, eating pumpkin cookies, a lunch date at the park with friends, and of course a photo shoot.

Happy Half Birthday sweet Baby {E}

That pacifier. It's more of a chew toy these days.

And guess who inherited the squinty eye? It gets droopy when she's sleepy.

A few facts:
  • {A} is still her favorite and can make her giggle harder than anyone else. He can also make her cry fairly quick too.
  • She still loves her feet, especially when she's wearing shoes. She loves chomping those sparkle jellies!
  • She is obsessed with eating. She has even overcome her dislike of applesauce.
  • Since she has started sitting up really well, she refuses to have tummy time. So no crawling anytime soon (I Hope).
  • She has turned into a naughty sleeper not unlike her older brother. I'm hoping she will go back to her perfect sleeping days soon. Mom and Dad are very tired of playing at 4 a.m.
  • Her hair is getting lighter and less curly. And I'm so sad she's losing that signature curl.

{Birthday} Girl

This sweet girl is one! She is basically my favorite. I'm so glad her momma allowed me to invite myself over for the birthday party.  It was quite the traumatic afternoon for this sweetie though. I performed minor surgery to remove a hair tourniquet, she jumped head first off the couch, and after the cake smash her daddy promptly hosed her down...which she did not enjoy. But she recovered fast and lucky for her will probably not remember any of it!  {And honestly from the pictures no one call tell it was a pretty rough day.}

It's been so fun to watch this sweet girl grow. She is probably the most featured on my blog second only to Little {A}.

Up next: Baby {Z}... It feels good to be back in business!

The {Best} Kid Ever

July 18, 2011 at 4:20 p.m. I became a mom. The birth certificate says 4:25, but I was the one watching the clock. My life was changed for the better. Little {A} isn't so little anymore and I am so happy to call him mine. It was a rough start, but even through all the long nights, early mornings, tantrums, and tears my heart has been filled will love for this sweet boy.

Interview with {A}
How old are you? 4! Am I 4? Did you tell me that?
What's your favorite food? Spaghetti sauce!
Favorite toy? Mickey Mouse
Your favorite movie? Ice Age
Who's your favorite friend? LILA!
What was your favorite birthday present? Scooter! and bloons (balloons)
What's your favorite song? Twinkle twinkle little star, I'm child God.
What about Apples and Bananas? Oh yea! Apples and Bananas.
But which one's your favorite? All those ones.

{A} loves swimming, water slides, anything green, tickle football with Dad, veggies, playing with friends, singing, being silly, baby sister...

He says the silliest things.
This morning:
{A}: Why do you get cones on your heads for birthdays?
Me: I don't know.
{A}: Cones are supposed to get eaten.

The other day randomly while eating breakfast:
{A}: Did you know you can use spoons to open boxes?
Me: Oh really, How do you know that?
{A}: I'm just smart mom.

Happy Birthday to the silliest kid around. He sure does fill our home with fun and occasionally tantrums. I wouldn't trade this blonde haired blue eyed boy for anything.

{M}om

My mom is the best. Some of you may try to convince me that your mom is the best, but we'll just have to agree to disagree. Well today my friends, is my awesome mom's birthday! Here are a few fun facts about my mom:

  • She is the ultimate crafter and DIYer. She sews, quilts, paints, restores furniture. She is always on the lookout for a fun new project!
  • She and I used to work in a flower shop together. (I bet you didn't know that about me, did you!) She worked there for years! She still does flowers for family weddings and funerals. She is so talented!
  • Her garden/yard is my favorite place. My wedding reception was there as well as my sisters's. The grass is always perfect. The flowers are so pretty and fragrant. Every year she has new ideas on how to make it better.
  • She is an awesome grandma! 13 grand kids and another on the way! Wahoo!
  • She raised 7 kids! Six girls and one boy. We are a BIG happy family :)
  • My mom loves the color blue.  At one point I told her she couldn't buy any more blue clothes because it was getting out of hand.
  • I'm sure if my mom could be any animal she would be a bluebird. She loves birds! And that bird loving trait has been passed down to a few of the grand kids including my little guy.
  • She makes the BEST cinnamon rolls! She even sells them. They are that good.
  • She used to have written instructions on how to turn on our computer and get to her email. Now she has her own laptop and is pretty tech savvy.

When I think of my mom I usually picture her in one of two places; either in her sewing room, or outside working in her yard. I don't have any pictures of her sewing room, but I do have some pictures of her amazing yard.

My mom is the greatest. She has helped me through so much and I have learned so much from her.

I love you, Mom! I hope you have a great day!

{A} Birthday

It is so fun to live a little closer to family! My sister is now about 3 hours from us so that means we get to see them a little more often! It's great to be able to get together for birthdays and such..  Her oldest turned 9 over the weekend and we had so much fun celebrating. We went to a baseball game Friday night (not my favorite sport, but turned out to be fun with all the kids) and celebrated {A's} birthday on Saturday.

{A} wanted vanilla cupcakes with vanilla frosting. So cute.

After the festivities I had a little birthday photo shoot with {A}.

Two owl necklaces! Lucky girl. I gifted her the one on the left and I actually have the exact same one as the one on the right. We are owl buddies :)

Not too grown up yet :)

 Ballerina

I can't decide which is my favorite. Maybe leave a comment or two and let me know which poses or pictures you like best.
